Ingredients | 2-4 Tbs cocoa powder (more = darker chocolate flavour) 4 Tbs chia seeds 1 tsp vanilla 6 majoulie dates or 1 mashed banana 1 cup milk (cow milk, coconut milk, or almond milk) |
Directions | Mash up the banana or the dates so they are smooth (dates may need a food processor). add all ingredients and stir. I recommend adding the milk last and adding it gradually. Let chill in the fridge. This will take several hours to overnight to set. The chia seeds absorb the liquid and make it pudding-y. No added sugar is needed, the dates or banana are pretty great. |
Notes | You might want to mix it up and then divide it into individual containers right away and let them set in there. It isn't a super 'firm' pudding once you are done. As an alternative to cow's milk, you could make almond milk by letting 1 cup of water and 1/4 cup of almonds soak in cold water for at least 4 hours. This method works great if you use a blender of some kind as well, to blend the banana or dates smooth - then you can just add them to the almond water and blend. |
