Ingredients | * Part 1 * 1 cup spelt flour 3/4 cup granulated sugar 2 tbsp cocoa 2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt * Part 2 * 1/2 cup rice milk 2 tbsp vegetable (olive!) oil 1 tsp vanilla * Part 3 * 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/4 cup cocoa |
Directions | Take all the ingredients in part 1 and combine it all in a suitably large pan (say your average casserole dish). Take the wet items from part 2 and add to the dry ingredients in part 1 to make a paste. In a separate bowl, mix the ingredients from part 3. This is the 'sauce'. Sprinkle this over the previously mixed ingredients. Pour 1 and 3/4 cups of -hot- water over the whole thing. Slam it in the oven set a 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes. I put the lid on the casserole dish to avoid scorching the top. |
Notes | Also called Hot Fudge Sundae Cake. The sugar, water and cocoa form a pudding that swims around the cake. Delicious with ice cream or milk! |
