Ingredients | 1/2 Cup shortening 1/2 Cup brown sugar 1/2 Cup white sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla 1 Cup peanut butter 1 egg 1 tsp baking soda 1 1/2 Cups flour 1/2 tsp salt |
Directions | Cream the shortening, vanilla, peanut butter and sugars. Add the egg and beat. Add flour, soda, and salt to the mixture. Beat well. Roll into small balls and flatten with a fork. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes. |
Notes | Natural peanut butter (just peanuts) works best. Original recipe called for a greased cookie sheet but there's so much oil/fat in the batter that this is not required. |
