Ingredients | 6 hamburger buns worth of bread 1 large onion 1/2 cup finely chopped cellery 1 tsp poultry seasoning 1tbs salt 1 beaten egg 3 tbs shortning, melted |
Directions | Mix together all ingredients in a big bowl. I recommend using a kitchen aid blender to chop all the breadcrumbs up super fine. Stuff all items into bird. For a turkey, used 10 buns and 1 cup a cellery, and 2 eggs. |
Notes | My Great Grandma Lena used to shred the bread by hand, taking hours to do this. That is a testamant to how awsome this stuffing is. Also stuff the bird and cook it properly. Anything that does not fit can go in a casserol dish, but damnit, the best will come out of the bird. |
