| Ingredients | 2 cups flour 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp baking powder shortining (about the size of an egg) chicken broth (pot full) | 
| Directions | Work the shortining, salt, baking powder and flour to a meal grain. Add enough cold water to make a stiff dough. Divide into 2 or 3 portions. Roll as thin as a pie crust and cut into squares. Have the broth at a rolling boil. Drop about 12 dumplings in at a time, cover and boil slowly until cooked. (About 5 min). Continue to add dumplings 12 at a time in this manner until all the dough is added. Cook about 20 min. Stir as you add new dumplings from the bottom with a large spoon. Be careful not to break dumplings. |
